Clinical Practice
Mr. Alistair Rowcroft is a General Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery and advanced interventional endoscopy, including ERCP. He offers comprehensive management of both benign and malignant conditions affecting the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.
Main Focus
His scope of practice includes liver lesions and tumours, gallstones, bile duct stones, pancreatic tumours, and pancreatitis. In addition to HPB surgery, Mr. Rowcroft provides care for a wide range of general surgical conditions such as hernias, adrenal tumours, reflux disease, and perianal disorders. He also performs gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and complex endoscopic procedures. Mr. Rowcroft is committed to delivering holistic, patient-centered care, ensuring that treatment plans are tailored to individual needs and circumstances. He prioritizes timely access for urgent cases, including suspected or confirmed cancers, with appointments available within one week.
Dr Rowcroft operates from Hollywood Private Hospital and since February 2026 he is also able to offer private endoscopy services (gastroscopy and colonoscopy) at Ramsay Private at Joondalup Health Campus and publically at Joondalup Health Campus making him accessible to patients north and south of the river.
Background, Training and Research
Dr. Rowcroft completed his medical degree and early clinical training in WA before undertaking General Surgical training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Victoria. He then advanced his expertise through the ANZ Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Fellowship program, training at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth. To further broaden his experience, Dr. Rowcroft completed a prestigious Liver Transplant Fellowship at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in the UK. He returned to Perth in 2024, bringing world-class surgical expertise to his practice. Mr. Rowcroft is actively engaged in research and education, with numerous publications in the fields of general and HPB surgery, as well as surgical training. He contributes to national and international collaborative research initiatives and is passionate about advancing surgical knowledge and improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice.
