Clinical Practice
Dr Daniel Clarke is a Consultant Neurologist with subspecialty expertise in cognition and stroke. He practices at Hollywood Private Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and The Neurosciences Unit at Graylands Hospital. In addition to his clinical work, he is the Director of Clinical Trials at Alzheimer’s Research Australia, contributing to the development of emerging therapies for cognitive and neurodegenerative disorders.
Special Focus Areas
Dr Clarke’s specialist focus include Alzheimer’s disease, other dementia syndromes, stroke neurology, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, and acquired cognitive disorders, including chronic traumatic encephalopathy. He is actively involved in research across Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, the Perron Institute, and Alzheimer’s Research Australia, with a strong focus on advancing the understanding and treatment of cognitive and cerebrovascular conditions.
Background & Training
Dr Clarke graduated with first-class honours from the University of St Andrews in Scotland before completing his medical degree with honours at the University of Manchester. He subsequently worked in Bath and Bristol prior to relocating to Australia, where he completed both his Physician Training and Specialist Neurology Training in Western Australia. He later undertook a Fellowship in Cognitive and Stroke Neurology. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (2012), Australian Medical Council Certificate (2015), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP, 2022).
