About
Dr Sankhesara is an interventional cardiologist with expertise in complex coronary intervention, intracoronary imaging, metal-free angioplasty (drug-coated balloon angioplasty) and advanced coronary physiology assessment (including angina with normal coronary arteries).
His areas of interest include acute and chronic chest pain, cardiovascular risk assessment, arrhythmias and heart failure. He is able to provide urgent clinic appointments for chest pain assessment on request. He can offer consultation in Hindi and Gujarati for linguistically diverse patients.
He offers consultations through Western Cardiology in Joondalup, Subiaco and Midland, and provides outreach services to the rural community in Kalgoorlie.
Education
Graduating in Medicine in India in 2006, Dr Sankhesara moved to Perth, completing a master’s degree in health administration in 2010. Since then, he has worked at all major academic hospitals across WA and completed cardiology training in 2021.
He completed fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Royal Perth Hospital (2022), followed by a further fellowship at Sheffield Teaching Hospital Trusts, UK (2023) with special focus on complex coronary intervention and chronic total occlusion (CTO).
