Mr Vincent Yap

Mitcham Private Hospital is pleased to introduce Mr Vincent Yap, Orthopaedic Surgeon, who has been practising in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs for over 20 years.

 

Vincent graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1995 and joined the Victorian-Tasmanian Orthopaedic Advanced Training Programme in 2002. During his training, he was awarded the Allan Frederick Dwyer Prize for Best Research Paper. In 2006, he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and appointed Orthopaedic Consultant at Austin Health and Dandenong Hospital (Monash Health).

 

In 2007, Vincent was awarded the Smith & Nephew Fellowship, undertaking advanced training in arthroplasty and sports trauma in the United Kingdom and Europe. In the UK, he completed a Lower Limb Reconstruction Fellowship at the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC), one of the highest-volume arthroplasty centres in Europe, performing approximately 3,000 joint replacements each year. He also trained in hip arthroscopy and early intervention hip surgery under Mr Richard Field.

 

In Belgium, Vincent completed a Sports Orthopaedics and Knee Fellowship with Professor Johan Bellemans, one of Europe’s leading knee surgeons.

 

Since returning from Europe in 2008, Vincent has continued his public appointments at Austin Health and Dandenong Hospital (Monash Health), while also providing care to private patients across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.

 

Vincent’s main consulting rooms are located at Suite 8, 18 Bell Street, Heidelberg Heights, close to Austin Health and Warringal Private Hospital. He also consults regularly and operates at Mitcham Private Hospital and Warringal Private Hospital.
