Rochelle believes that being truly heard and understood is half the journey to healing, the rest is a steady stride to understand and develop tools to navigate life’s challenges.
Rochelle is a focused and compassionate health registrar psychologist with a warm practice style and a particular focus on working with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, depression and adjustment as a result of chronic health conditions, stress and/or trauma.
Rochelle offers a respectful space to encourage healing and growth holistically. Rochelle applies clinical health knowledge of how chronic conditions impact mental health over the lifetime for clients to reduce distress and be able to live a meaningful life.
She has experience in a broad range of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and mindfulness.
Rochelle has practiced across various settings including hospitals, government, private practice, and not for profit organisations delivering individual, family and group therapy within diverse populations including women, remote, defence, LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse, culturally diverse, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. She focuses on adolescent, adult and older adult clients.
Rochelle holds a Master of Psychology in Health from The University of Queensland, Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) from Central Queensland University and a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention from TAFE Queensland. Rochelle is also a certified Triple P facilitator that provides evidence-based skills for parents and children in helping parents respond to challenging behaviours and anxiety in children.
She also has a particular focus in working with remote communities (including shift workers) as well as women and specialises in helping to heal distress associated trauma and pelvic health.
